Ensuring European media coverage

Knowing the constraints on European journalists in Brussels, so as to better influence them

Communication managers, press officers working for interest groups (companies, associations, local and regional authorities, unions, etc.) and wishing to get their message across to European media based in Brussels.

Background

Every day, several thousand European interest groups seek to influence European institutions. To get their point of view considered, these interest groups benefit from having their messages relayed by European journalists based in Brussels. But the task is complicated because their targets are much sought-after journalists who receive hundreds of emails every day. That being the case, how does one get the attention of these journalists? How does one convince them to pass on YOUR information?

To understand the way European media work in Brussels.
To structure and prioritise one’s information, taking into account the way these journalists work and the constraints on them.
To use the right tools.
To set up an effective press campaign aimed at European journalists based in Brussels.
